And Mary said, “Behold, I am the servant of the Lord; let it be done to me according to your word.” And the angel departed from her. - Luke 1:38

As I was painting this, I contemplated what submission might look like and what it means to me.  As an act of humility, I would bow in adoration of God's messenger.  The point of connection, the shared intimacy with one so close to the Father,  I imagine would leave me elated and encouraged. In obedience, I would respond affirmatively and strive to do His will. In faith, I would need a whole lot more simplicity to let God work in and through me more completely.
